Matt Barnes, who is well-known for his competitive nature, was reportedly at arrested for domestic violence against a woman who was living with him. The Sacramento Bee says that when police arrived at Barnes' residence, the woman and Barnes had injuries. Officers determined that Barnes was the aggressor and placed him under arrest.
He was later booked with maliciously obstructing the use of a telephone line and faces charges of domestic abuse.

The presence of injuries on the woman as well as Barnes further complicates the issue. However, a 911 call that was made recorded the struggle and may not help Barnes' defense. After posting $50,000 bail, Barnes was released from jail.
Recently, Barnes signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, even though the team already has a forward, Ron Artest.
