Judge Arrested for Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is the reason why a judge in northern California was arrested last week.
According to Vallejo police Sgt. Jeff Bassett, Solano County Superior Court Judge Robert Bowers was arrested after receiving a complaint of abuse from his wife. He later told the Vallejo Times-Herald that Bower's wife showed "a minor, but visible injury." The judge was taken to the Solano County Jail and later posted his bail of $25,000.
While Bowers returned to work the following Monday, he did not hear any cases, but rather remained in his chambers. At this time Bower's attorney, Daniel Russo, has denied all allegations of domestic abuse. He is worried that the judge's reputation has been permanently damaged. Bowers is scheduled to go to court on May 2 for his arraignment.
Judge Bowers was appointed to the bench in Solano County in 2003.
