Police Respond to Domestic Violence Call and Find Marijuana
Police killed two birds with one stone this week when they discovered marijuana at a home where they were already responding to a domestic violence call.
According to Police Chief James T. Smith officers went to the home on Golf Club Lane when they received a call for domestic violence. Once there they uncovered a serious marijuana-growing operation, along with ten pounds of packaged marijuana that is believed to be worth between $20,000 and $50,000. Both the husband and the wife were arrested on domestic violence charges.
They later pleaded not guilty to their charges and were either bonded out or released on their own recognizance. Once he obtained a search warrant for the marijuana, Sheriff A.J. "Tim" Rodenberg led the Clermont County Narcotics Unit to collect the evidence. It is possible that drug charges could be filed once Sheriff Rick W. Combs has met with the prosecution team.
