Robby Albarado Accused of Domestic Abuse

Local celebrity Robby Albarado was placed into police custody yesterday on possible charges of domestic violence.

Albarado, known in Louisville for his success as a jockey, was arrested when officers responded to a 911 call placed from the home he shares with his wife. The 37-year-old jockey now faces charges of domestic assault, intimidating a witness and wanton endangerment. His wife, Kimber Albarado, declined medical treatment even though she had clear strangulation marks around her neck.

According to police reports, "there was an argument that turned physical. A cell phone was taken away and another was broken as [Kimber] tried to call for help."

This was disappointing news for fans of the jockey who just returned from an injury to start the racing season. Albarado has been a regular rider for Horses of the Year Mineshaft and has won numerous awards in his field.
