Domestic Violence Suspect Chased Down by Police Dogs

Although officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call, they found themselves running after the suspect who took off on foot as soon as police arrived. These were no regular officers, however, but members of the canine unit who had brought their dogs with them.
When officers saw the man take off, they chased after him through a North California neighborhood. He attempted to lose them by going through a canal, but the police dogs were too quick. One caught up to him and sunk its teeth into the suspect, causing the man to stop in his tracks. The man was taken into custody immediately and brought to a local hospital to be treated for his dog bites.
Since then, the 23-year-old male has been charged with domestic violence and felony evading arrest.
