Man Faces Years in Prison for Domestic Violence
A man in Alaska finds himself sentenced to years behind bars after inflicting serious injuries to his own wife while inside their home.
After opening up an investigation against the 30-year-old male, officers uncovered a history of domestic violence incidents. However, the husband's recent arrest was for the most gruesome injuries inflicted. Not only did the man punch his wife, but he fired a gun at her and burned her with a heating coil. The victim did not approach police on her own. Instead, a colleague went to officers to report the mysterious burn marks covering her co-worker's body.
When questioned about the burns, the woman maintained her silence. The next day, however, she finally told the officers about the burns she received and the extensive history of domestic violence that she has suffered at the hands of her husband. Some of the previous occasions of violence included choking until she lost consciousness, along with other forms of abuse.
