Husband Sets Wife on Fire during Domestic Abuse Incident
Domestic violence reached new levels of horrific when a husband doused his wife with gasoline and set her on fire, forcing her to jump out of a moving vehicle.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 23-year-old victim was riding in a pickup truck with her husband, thirty nine, when the two began fighting. While he was driving, the husband managed to splash gasoline on her and set her on fire using the vehicle's cigarette lighter. To escape further torture, the woman opened her door and jumped onto the roadway. Luckily, no passing vehicles struck her in the process.
The husband has been detained and charged with making criminal threats, false imprisonment and attempted murder with an allegation of domestic violence causing great bodily injury. His bail was set at $1 million. It is unknown whether he has an attorney at this time. The woman was transported to a local medical center where she still remains for treatment.
