Ownership of Dodgers May Not be Most Important Element of McCourt Divorce
Ownership of the Dodgers may be the most important aspect of Frank and Jamie McCourt's divorce.
According to the most recent talks, a settlement may be in the works after a judge ruled that the prenuptial agreement signed by both parties was invalid. It will ultimately be up to Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon to decide the fate of the famous baseball team. Right now, Jamie is urging the judge to allow the Dodgers to be sold; however, Frank"s lawyers are working overtime to prevent this from happening.
The two have been attempting to work out an agreement since last year. A period of mediation was finally declared to be at an impasse by a different judge. Although a proposal was drafted and approved by Frank"s lawyers, it was later ruled invalid. The details of that agreement have not been released to the public. At the moment, a monitor is in control of the team until the final arrangements have been made.
