Jay Mariotti Facing Domestic Abuse Accusations
ESPN personality Jay Mariotti finds himself in the news again; this time, however, the spotlight is not so flattering.
According to police reports Mariotti has been charged with three felonies for a possible domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend. When he went before the judge this Wednesday, Mariotti pleaded not guilty to corporal injury on a spouse or domestic partner, assaults by means likely to produce great bodily harm and stalking. He also pleaded not guilty to the two misdemeanor counts of disobeying a court order that were placed against him.
This is not the first time that Mariotti has faced such charges. In August of last year, he struck a deal with the city attorney's office in order to dismiss six charges against him at that time. As part of the deal, Mariotti had to promise to stay away from his ex-girlfriend. Part of his current sentence could involve jail time for violating the terms of his probation.
