Jermaine Dupri Ordered to Pay Child Support
Music producer Jermaine Dupri was ordered recently to make child support payments to a woman in Atlanta, and he has already fallen behind in making them.
According to Fulton County Superior Court Judge Margaret Dorsey, the results of a paternity test revealed that Dupri is indeed the father. She then ordered him to pay $2,500 per month in child support and an additional $7,500 to Sarai Jones. Randy Kessler, who is representing Jones, said that his client hoped she and Dupri could "work together to co-parent their beautiful baby girl." The child is now 7 months old.
When the child support lawsuit was filed against Dupri, he was already facing serious financial problems. His mansion had already been scheduled for a foreclosure-induced auction; however, the sale has been cancelled since then. The Georgia Department of Revenue reports that Dupri owes $493,000 in back taxes for 2007 alone.
