McCourt Struggles to Maintain Ownership of Dodgers
Not only is he disappointed about hisdivorce, but Frank McCourt is fighting desperately to keep ownership of his team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
McCourt and wife Jamie McCourt were together for 30 years, enjoying a lavish lifestyle, until their marriage started to fall apart. After a very messy public divorce battle, McCourt was forced to hire a baseball commissioner to take over the Dodgers. This person then hired a monitor to watch over and investigate the team's operations and finances.
When speaking to "Good Morning America" this week, McCourt expressed some regret about his lifestyle, saying that "it was unhealthy -- and unsustainable [...] I became a caricature of somebody who was uncaring -- unfeeling -- excessively living -- bad guy -- and that's just not who I am." McCourt added that he never actually thought his marriage would end in divorce. His wife, however, doesn't seem to regret the lifestyle, saying that their net worth of $1 billion was needed to sustain it.
