Shotgun Fired during Domestic Dispute
Police were called to a home in California Valley after a man reportedly fired a 12-gauge shotgun during a domestic violence incident.
According to police reports, deputies from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff"s department took Charles Lee Boyd, 39, into custody last week. However, Boyd did not give himself up willingly; an overnight search finally netted results when the authorities were able to locate and detain the suspect. Details of the case are sparse as the department has yet to reveal whether the home belonged to Boyd, and what the relationship was between Boyd and the victim.
After firing the shotgun, Boyd fled in his pickup truck with at least two firearms. Officers were able to track down his truck around 7 a.m. the following day. It appeared as though Boyd had crashed his vehicle at French Camp Vineyards, located at 3555 Camatta Creek Road. The search, which included a California Highway Patrol airplane and K-9 units, finally led to his arrest two hours later.
