Agency Tries New Tactic to Combat Past Due Child Support

Child support enforcement agencies are always trying to come up with new ways to collect money from parents. However, one agency has taken an old idea and used it in a new way.
According to news sources, the agency printed out multiple posters last week that show the pictures of 11 people. Together, these parents owe $215,000 in child support. This "wanted" poster will be distributed to 200 locations across the state and county. These locations, including banks and libraries, are high-visibility areas that are more likely to generate leads to the people shown on the posters.
Altogether, the county is owed $4.4 million by 260 individuals who are grossly negligent in their child support payments. All of these individuals have been issued felony warrants for their arrest and can be taken into custody by police at any time if they are spotted.
