Officer Accused of Domestic Violence
As if it wasn't bad enough to be connected to a police corruption scandal, one officer has now been charged with domestic violence against his wife.
According to a local police department, for which the officer once worked, the 39-year-old man was taken into custody in his own home last week. At that time, he was charged with misdemeanor spousal battery, along with making criminal threats and another felony charge. Although the department is not releasing many details about the case, other than the fact that nobody was seriously injured, the former officer is being held on $1 million bail at a jail.
This comes just months after the former officer was arrested for his role in stealing guns, cash and drugs from police raids. He gained access to these items while working on a narcotics team, of which he was the commander. For these crimes, he will be answering to a federal judge, and could spend years behind bars if he is found guilty.
