San Diego Courts to Eliminate Court Reporters

A Legal Team You Can Trust
|

The San Diego Superior Court released a notice recently informing all litigants that it will no longer provide a court reporter during court proceedings. This massive change is in an effort to meet the $33 million budget reduction.

In family law, the court will provide a court reporter for domestic violence restraining order hearings, contempt hearings and request for order hearings of 40 minutes or less.

If the parties want a court reporter present in any other type of hearing, they can choose one from the court's approved list and/or agree on a private court reporter.
